The certification process is a way to validate that a therapist (with the prerequisite credentials of a RDH, SLP, or DDS/DMD) has the knowledge and skills to identify and treat Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMDs).

As part of the certification process, one must complete an International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM) approved introductory course, a written exam, and an onsite visit. The Certified Orofacial Myologist® must then maintain continuing education requirements.

We’re happy to announce that Alyssa has completed the process of becoming a Certified Orofacial Myologist®, making her the 300th person to be certified by the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM).
