Have you ever heard of the “deep front line”? It’s the body’s myofascial core, connecting the tongue to the feet. (Check out the video below to learn more.)

The body is a series of interconnected hard and soft tissue. It’s no surprise that dysfunction in one area of the body can affect other areas. This is called a “kinetic chain.”

Take, for example, dysfunction of the feet. Overpronation (inward rolling of feet) from flat feet can cause knee pain, hip pain, and back pain. I know this from personal experience. After correcting this dysfunction with proper footwear, stretching, strengthening, chiropractic care, and bodywork, I am feeling much better!

So, if you have orofacial soft tissue dysfunction, it could potentially cause a chain of events, affecting other areas of your body, and a chain is only as strong as its weakest link.
